Abstract

ROJAS, Jaime H  and  SIERRA, Noralba. Development and validation of an analytical methodology for the assay of carbamazepine in human plasma by solid phase extraction and high performance liquid chromatography. Rev. colomb. cienc. quim. farm. [online]. 2007, vol.36, n.1, pp.55-69. ISSN 0034-7418.

This paper describes the analytical results during validation of a reverse high performance liquid chromatography methodology for the assay of carbamazepine in human plasma, useful for their dosage in biodisponibility and bioequivalence studies. The stationary bounded phase used was octadecylsilane and the mobile phase was composed by a mixture of methanol-acetonitrile-water. The detection was performed by UV at 213 nm and lorazepam was utilized as internal standard. The method show linearity between 125 ng and 10 mcg/mL, amounts useful for the assay of carbamazepine in plasma.

Keywords : Carbamazepine (CBZ); lorazepam (LRZ); solid phase extraction; high performance liquid chromatography; octadecylsilane; UV detection; diode array detector; validation.
