Abstract

GOMEZ, Carlos Alberto. Pseudo-aneurism of the left external iliac artery: an incidental intra-operation finding in a case of hysterectomy by leiomiomas. Rev Colomb Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2005, vol.56, n.1, pp.92-95. ISSN 0034-7434.

The case of a 42-year-old woman is reported, diagnosed with fibromyiomas, who underwent abdominal hys- terectomy. Pseudo-aneurysm of the left iliac artery was found during gynecological surgery, probably related to prior catheterism during prostetic mitral valve implantation, months before the actual operation. Three days after gynecological surgery, the patient was operated on again, the arterial anomaly being repaired with a vascular graft. Post-operation recovery was promising following both procedures.

Keywords : gynecological surgery; iliac artery pseudoaneurysm; fibromyoma.
