DE LOS RIOS, José F; CASTANEDA, Juan D  e  RESTREPO, Emilio A. Lineal laparoscopic salpingostomy for treating spontaneous bilateral ectopic pregnancy: a case report. Rev Colomb Obstet Ginecol [online]. 2006, vol.57, n.1, pp.54-57. ISSN 0034-7434.

Spontaneous bilateral ectopic pregnancy is a rare clinical condition occurring in 1 out of 1,580 ectopic pregnancies. 72 cases of bilateral ectopic pregnancy have been reported during the last 25 years, 31 or them being spontaneous and none of them having been correctly diagnosed before surgery. Treatment is much the same as that for unilateral ectopic pregnancies, depending on the patient’s reproductive prospects and damage found in the tubes. 8 cases of lineal laparoscopic salpingostomy for treating bilateral ectopic pregnancies have previously been reported. The post-operative state of the tubes was reported in just one of these cases. This is the first report to our knowledge of a case in Colombian literature regarding a spontaneous bilateral ectopic pregnancy conservatively treated by laparoscopy in which tubal patency 4 months post-operatively was also evaluated by means of a sonohysterosalpingography.

Palavras-chave : bilateral; ectopic pregnancy; spontaneous; salpingostomy; laparoscopy.
