Improvement in EEG and knowledge of Rapid Eye Movements have fostered the study of sleep disorders. In 1990. the second and last International Classification proposed diagnostic criteria. Polysomnography in healthy volunteers at the sleep laboratory of Universidad Tecnologica de Pereira began in 1997. Techniques were previously standardized. One case of sleep disorder, observed in animal models and laterin humans, is here presented. Diagnosis might be overlooked or confused with other mental illness if not properly thought about.
