An evolution of the concept of ADHD is presented, along with the origins of its probable biology. Neurophysiological aspects of attention are outlined. Several biological models of ADHD are reviewed, anatomic areas, neurotransmission and circuits. Correlation of biology, clinic and pharmacotherapy is studied.
