This paper summarizes both, author's experience and a monographic review of current aspects in children and adolescent liaison psychiatry. From conceptual definitions, aspects regarding children's developmental ideas about illness and death are studied. Types of consultations are outlined, with brief references to the more frequent chief complaints.
