Abstract

Inferencial medical model compares what is directly observed by the therapist with shapes of symptomatic reference. The perceptual model used in a complementary way includes other aspects than more symptoms in order to establish a diagnosis. One can then incorporate phenomenon observed in a wider sease. Dysthymia represents a crucial point to understand the depressive spectrum. The article intends to promote the study of the dysthymic phenomenon by means of perceptual experience, emphasizing therapeutic relation as a starting point of our diagnostic process and therapeutic goals.
