Abstract

ALARCON V, RAFAEL et al. DEPRESSION AND EDUCATION RECOGNITION AND ATTITUDES BY GENERAL PRACTITIONER: A COLOMBIAN EXPERIENCE. rev.colomb.psiquiatr. [online]. 2001, vol.30, n.3, pp.249-260. ISSN 0034-7450.

WPA/PTD Educational Program on Depressive Disorders, with endorsement of the world Psychiatric Association and its educational committee, was implemented in Colombia during 1998 and 1999. The country was divided in six regions. A previously trained professor of psychiatry was appointed to conduct workshops, following depression criteria designed by the WPA Committee of Education and Experts. A survey on knowledge and attitudes about depression by participating general practitioners was perfomed. Characteristics and results of this study are presented.
