The present article captures the experience the city of Bogotá has had in the design, implementation, and execution of the Basic Attention Plan (PAB) in Mental Health from the Distrital Secretary Health Office. The three levels of action and interaction among them will be briefly explained. Then, mental health will be contextualized in the concept and purpose of public health. The article concludes with an outline of the strategies used to obtain the proposed objectives for the Basic Attention Plan in mental health for the capital district.
