Through the presentation of a case of sexual violence to a minor, the weaknesses of the actual health system are exposed with regard to the support services to violence victims that can potentially develop affective disorders secondary to their experiences. It also illustrates the resources that society has developed, along with the successes it has had in facing the limitations imposed by the System. As part of the development of the topic, a portion of the article is dedicated to the treatment of mental disorders as part of health altera-tions known under the name of pro-fessional illness. These topics intend to invite reflection on and redefine the risk that professionals who work in the mental health area are exposed to every day.
