The following article illustrates the case of a patient with major depression associated with hypothyroidism and chronic use of corticosteroids. Brief commentaries about the diagnostic difficulties seen in these types of patients will be made throughout this article making emphasis on the relationship between thyroid dysfunction and mood disorders.
