This paper offers an overview on filicide behavior and its relationship with mental disorder, especially in women whose filicide behavior may have developed under dissociative, depressive or psychotic states. It also shows some historic and scientific controversial aspects and highlights the need of performing an integral analysis of filicide behavior in the criminal trial, in order to find clinical and psychosocial issues subject to psychiatric treatment.
