Introduction and objectives: This article groups and relates the experts’ activities reported by the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Colombia in the last seven years, regarding homicide, suicide, domestic violence and sexual abuse. Results: A sensitive decrease is observed in human losses during the last two years. This is not the case for sexual offenses which increased 65.8%. This is a form of abuse intimately related to the structure and performance of the family system. Conclusion: The bond network built within this unit, stretching into the social environment, faces very unfavorable internal and external aggressions; for this reason, prognosis is reserved in reference to social health. Effective and multidisciplinary interventions are required.
