Abstract

Introduction: With some frequency patients suffering from Wilson's disease or multiple sclerosis presents with psychiatric symptomatology that affects the evolution of their clinical picture and pharmacological therapy. Objective: To review the psychopathological characteristics of both diseases, to describe the association of these pathologies with established psychiatric syndromes that in many occasions are the fi rst manifestation of the disease. Method: Medline, Ovid and Cochrane, and also the bibliography of the most relevant papers. Finally, information about the topic was gathered by reviewing manually the indexes of the most important publications. Conclusion: It was found that it was very important to look for psychiatric symptomatology both in acute phases of the disease and during treatment periods.
