Objectives: To define the meaning of the concept "original", from a practical point of view, for the use of evaluators and science editors, with an emphasis on the psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic clinic with analytical orientation. To determine what is understood by "plagiarism," and how to detect and avoid it. To establish which procedures and technical tools facilitate the discovery of the original in psychotherapeutic practice. Methods: Critical revision of the mentioned concepts. Results and Conclusions: The meaning of concepts that are the reason of this study is defined; the importance of recognizing original thought in minor scales is highlighted; this would qualify texts for publication without expecting only brilliant contributions. The procedures and technical tools that facilitate the appearance of original thought in the psychodynamic field are emphasized. These are: otherness, uniqueness, integration, change of vertex, and transformations.
