Urinalysis (EGO for its acronym in Spanish) is a renal liquid biopsy that provides excellent information on renal function and acid-base and electrolyte balances. It can also provide data on metabolic alterations and renal and extra-renal diseases. The purpose of this review is to describe the most important contents of urinalysis so the pediatrician can correctly interpret its results and establish an appropriate and timely diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
