Introduction:
The physical condition of skaters and its correlation with musculoskeletal injuries in a city with a high level of sports practice are unknown.
Objective:
To validate an instrument to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in racing skaters in Villavicencio.
Materials and methods:
The instrument includes five domains qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by experts using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for reliability analysis. Validity was analyzed based on the psychometric properties of the questions, that is, question-test correlation, question discrimination, difficulty level, and non-response indexes.
Results:
In qualitative terms, a high level of agreement between expert evaluations was found using Kendall's W (ordinal variables) at 95% confidence, as well as a high inter- and intra-evaluator agreement in the reliability of the questionnaire. A p value greater than 0.05 was quantitatively observed for consistency between items. Internal consistency was >0.6 with good biserial correlation in 50% of the questions. 96.9% approved the difficulty criteria, 87.5% were differentiated between high and very high, and 93.8% were not suitable or acceptable responses.
Conclusions:
The reproducibility of the instrument was high. Regarding validity, the final test showed optimal psychometric properties that can be usedl in the analysis of results.
