Abstract

MARTINEZ, HORACIO LUJÁN. Scope and Pertinence of the Ethical Readings of Wittgenstein's Tractatus. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2010, vol.59, n.142, pp.111-130. ISSN 0120-0062.

Although we recognize the value of ethical interpretations of the Tractatus Logicophilosophicus, we also believe that many of them overvalue the place and value of ethics in the book. This paper analyzes these interpretations, in order to show their merits and their faults and develop what we call "complementarity between logic and ethics". Only with the interaction of logic and ethics, considered transcendental by Wittgenstein, will we be able to read the Tractatus as a non-contradictory whole.

Keywords : Wittgenstein; Tractatus Logico-philosophicus; ethics.
