Abstract

ORDONEZ DIAZ, Leonardo. Frontiers of Myth, Philosophy and Science From the Cosmogonic Myths to the Big Bang Theory. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2016, vol.65, n.162, pp.103-134. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v65n162.43532.

C. Lévi-Strauss showed that -far from constituting an anarchic proliferation of narratives- the variety of myths exhibits a familiarity which makes the deep unity of human thought transparent. Taking this idea as starting point, the article shows how certain philosophical and scientific theories regarding the origin of the cosmos rest on an implicit narrative structure found in the cosmogonic myths. This comparison makes evident some unexpected affinities found in the attempt to answer the question regarding the origin of the cosmos.

Keywords : Big Bang; myth; origin of the cosmos.
