Abstract

SARALEGUI, Miguel. Nicolás Gómez Dávila as Critic of the Hispanic Culture. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2016, vol.65, n.162, pp.315-336. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v65n162.48162.

The article examines the judgment made by the Colombian philosopher regarding Spain and the Hispanic world. His negative view of cultural legacy allows us to extract two consequences: on the one hand, his Hispanophobia would keep him off the Hispanic American reactionary tradition; on the other, by identifying the Spanish culture with the Hispanic American, he would again come near the canonical reactionary identity -however, with a renewed complexity.

Keywords : N. Gómez Dávila; Spain; Hispanic America; reaction.
