Abstract

VALDERRAMA, Leonardo González. Divine duel. Freedom of conscience and religious tolerance. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2016, vol.65, suppl.2, pp.107-120. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v65n2supl.55163.

In order to defend religious tolerance, the article shows that there is no reason to consider that some religious beliefs are truer than others, just as it is impossible to establish that a certain religion is true, since religious belief does not have an absolute objective value. The paper also argues that if we base religious belief on freedom of conscience, then it is impossible not to defend religious tolerance.

Keywords : religious belief; freedom of conscience; religion; religious tolerance.
