Abstract

ABEIJON, MATÍAS. HISTORY, STRUCTURE, AND EXPERIENCE METHODOLOGICAL RELATIONS BETWEEN MICHEL FOUCAULT AND GEORGES DUMÉZIL. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, n.169, pp.153-179. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v68n169.63567.

The article inquires into the structural methodology of the Histoire de la folie à Γ âge classique. It argues that Michel Foucault draws on the works of Georges Dumézil to develop the concept of experience that grounds the different historical expressions of madness. The epochal experience developed in the above-mentioned text resorts to a structural causality that has its source in the Indo-European trifunctional scheme of ideology found in the works of Dumézil.

Keywords : M. Foucault; G. Dumézil; methodology; experience; madness.
