Abstract
VALVERDE, FACUNDO GARCÍA. IS RAWLS RESPONSIBLE FOR LUCK EGALITARIANISM? LEGITIMACY AND RESPONSIBILITY IN DISTRIBUTIVE JUSTICE. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, n.171, pp.37-57. Epub Feb 15, 2020. ISSN 0120-0062. https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v68n171.64799.
Luck egalitarianism is a theory of distributive justice that includes considerations of attributive responsibility when defining distributive obligations. It appears as an attempt to recompose the internal coherence of Rawlsian theory and avoid some of its "inequitable" consequences. The article defends the internal coherence of Rawls' theory, without the need to include a criterion sensitive to individual attributive responsibility, given that such criterion would be illegitimate from a Rawlsian point of view.
