Abstract

RINCON-COVELLI, Tatiana. THE NEVER AGAIN OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN - A (MISSED) OPPORTUNITY IN POLITICAL TRANSITIONS. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, suppl.5, pp.39-58. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v68n5supl.81435.

Never again refers to the attempt to name horror and atrocity, as in the case of Auschwitz, or the "Never Again" of the report on forced disappearances during the last dictatorship in Argentina. The article argues that because rape is an atrocious act, transitional justice, aimed at the non-repetition of any atrocity, would be normatively committed to its non-repetition, just as it is committed to the non-repetition of torture or forced disappearance.

Keywords : atrocity; never again; torture; rape; sexual violence.
