Abstract

CADAHIA, MARÍA LUCIANA. HER VOICE WILL UNTIE YOUR TONGUEANTIGONE, THE FEMININE AND THE PLEBEIAN. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2019, vol.68, suppl.5, pp.128-149. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v68n5supl.81436.

The article explores the articulation between the feminine and the plebeian on the basis of a contemporary version of Antigone. It first discusses the philosophical readings of the tragedy by Hegel and Kierkegaard, which address both its ethical-political and tragic dimensions. It then studies Zambrano's and Zizek's rewritings of Sophocles' tragedy and the manner in which they allow us to think the feminine and the plebeian in contemporary ethical-political philosophy. Finally, it argues in favor of a necessary bridge between the two figures.

Keywords : Antigone; political philosophy; the feminine; the plebeian.
