BLANCO PEREZ, CARLOS. BRAIN AND MYSTICISM. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2020, vol.69, n.172, pp.21-32.  Epub Mar 20, 2020. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v69n172.63307.

Neuroscience has provided valuable tools for the analysis of philosophical problems; however, there is an ongoing debate over the role of neuroscientific evidence in the explanation of certain mental phenomena. The discussion focuses on the mystical experience and its neuronal bases, which makes it possible to carry out more generic considerations regarding the legitimacy and scope of neuroscientific arguments when they involve some of the principal cultural products.

Keywords : mysticism; neuroscience; plasticity.
