Abstract

VARELA-MANO GRASSO, AGUSTINA. ECHOES OF VIOLENCE ARENDT'S GENEALOGY OF VIOLENCE AS DESINGULARIZATION. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2022, vol.71, n.179, pp.205-229.  Epub Aug 11, 2022. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v71n179.102607.

This paper reconstructs the Arendtian genealogy of the extreme forms of violence, taking desingularization processes as its guiding thread, with a twofold goal: on the one hand, to analyze the historical (dis)continuities of that genealogy, that goes beyond the physical-instrumental dimension of violence and comes into connection with the (de)configuration of personal identity; on the other hand, to claim the validity of Arendt's work to explore the echoes of that violence, without losing sight of its current specificity.

Keywords : genealogy; violence; desingulartization; personal identity.
