Abstract

CORREIA, Joseph; GODOY, Génesis; GARCIA, María  and  VEGA, Rubén. FORMULATION OF A DIESEL BASE DRILLING FLUID OF LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT. bol.geol. [online]. 2015, vol.37, n.2, pp.75-82. ISSN 0120-0283.

Drilling fluids must possess chemical and physical properties that allow conditioned at the location of each perforation, this without impairing the environmental sensitivity of the surrounding wellbore. The oil-based fluids have been uself for its many advantages, but these were originally formulated with diesel as a base compound with high concentration of aromatic compounds (28%), the latter with a representative degree of contamination to both humans and the environment environmental. That is the why cleaner bases have emerged such as synthetic oils, but with the disadvantage of high cost have emerged. Considering previously described, was aimed to find the best method for reducing the concentration of commercial aromatic oil to be used as the basis for drilling fluids. For this we used the destilation ASTM D86 and solid liquid chromatography were employed. It was concluded that the sample called AVO (Chromatography) is the best fluid basis given their greater decrease in concentration of aromatic as well as being extracted by a simpler method and have a better development in the physical properties of the drilling fluid

Keywords : Diesel; aromatic; aniline point; the drilling fluid.
