Abstract

DELOYA, Cuauhtémoc; MADORA-A., Martha  and  COVARRUBIAS-M., Dante. Necrophilous Scarabaeidae and Trogidae beetles (Coleoptera) from Acahuizotla, Guerrero, Mexico. Rev. Colomb. Entomol. [online]. 2013, vol.39, n.1, pp.88-94. ISSN 0120-0488.

Monthly surveys were conducted over a year, between October 2007 and September 2008, in Acahuizotla, State of Guerrero, in two fragments of a tropical deciduous forest, a disturbed area vegetation (acahual) and an oak forest of oak, established in a altitudinal gradient ranging from 790 m to 956 m. The total of 4,180 specimens Scarabaeidae and Trogidae were captured through a permanent NTP-80 trap, representing nine genera and 19 species. Canthon, Onthophagus and Phanaeus represent 52.63% of the richness of Scarabaeidae. The more distant sites were complementary in their species composition. The lowest complementarity occurred between sites with tropical deciduous forest and an oak forest/disturbed vegetation.

Keywords : Necrophilous; Diversity; Scarabaeidae; Trogidae; Mexico.
