Abstract
QUEZADA, Vanetza and SANTELICE, María Pía. Attachment and mother's psychopathology: relation with baby attachment style in the first year of life. rev.latinoam.psicol. [online]. 2010, vol.42, n.1, pp.53-61. ISSN 0120-0534.
The goal of this study is to describe and analyze the relation between mother's models of attachment, the presence or absence of psychopathology's indicators and infant attachment at the first year of age. Seventy two mothers between the age of 18 and 40 were given the self - questionnaire for adults CAMIR to identify mother's models of attachment and the Outcome Questionnaire OQ-45.2 to obtain a functionality rate in three areas: symptom distress, interpersonal relations and social role. Then they were observed with their babys between the age of 11 and 15 months in the Strange Situation, a standard procedure to assess to infant model of attachment. Results indicated that there isn't a significant association between mother's attachment style and the baby's attachment style, but the maternal psychopathology variable predicted insecurity in baby's attachment.
