Abstract This paper analyzes participation and collective action in the global movements of Ecovillage and Permaculture. We present the theoretical and methodological approach of the doctoral research entitled "Collective Action Frameworks for Cultural Global Movements in Ecovillages and Permaculture. Mediations, Communities and Social Networks in Building Sustainable Paradigm". This research is based on a psychosocial perspective which integrates constructionist and methodology in order to study cultural frameworks based on transformative social action. These results seek to contribute to the discussion, reflection and analysis of proposals for sustainable human development as forms of action which will ultimately allow the generation of responses to complex socio-environmental crisis contexts.

Keywords : social movements; permaculture; collective action; ecovillages; sustainable development.
