Abstract
LORES MEDINA, Angélica and PINZON-FLORIAN, Olga. Phytophagous insects in commercial plantations of Acacia mangium Willd. on the Atlantic coast and eastern plains of Colombia. Colomb. for. [online]. 2011, vol.14, n.2, pp.175-188. ISSN 0120-0739.
Phytophagous insects causing damage on foliage, tree trunk and seeds in commercial plantations of Acacia mangium Willd. located in Córdoba and Meta forested regions of Colombia were determined. Observations were made in fixed plots as well as in general survey trips prioritizing previously detected infestations. Observations were made during the humid and dry season of the year. Twenty-seven insect species were found on foliage, tree trunk and seeds. Besides Atta spp. attacks, no economical affectations were detected; however, Xyleborus and Teloplatypus infestations cause concern for the consequences of their damage.
