The knowledge society and the libraries of the twenty-first century are digital and interactive spaces required virtual. The library, to be in line with technological advances that occur every day, has implemented its activities and substantive functions. However, these developments are at a high speed, which produces the company knows little about how to maximize these technological resources. Given this, the library should be the institution that is postulated as an intermediary between knowledge, technology advances and society. Because it will provide the tools and strategies necessary for the user community is self-sufficient, using the best technological resources that are at your service, and thus meet their informational demands. The objective of this paper is to reflect on why literacy information technology (AIT) as part of information literacy (AI) should be established as an essential strategy of the libraries in the twenty-first century. In the foreground, discusses the current state of libraries. The second part deals with the introduction of ICT's in library services and its future trends. Finally, we examine the AIT derived from AI and its application and development in contemporary and future libraries.
