Abstract
LAUDANO, Claudia Nora; PLANAS, Javier; CORDA, María Cecilia and PELITTI, Pamela. The implementation of technologies by graduates of the Librarianship Department of the National University of La Plata (Argentina). Rev. Interam. Bibliot [online]. 2011, vol.34, n.2, pp.117-128. ISSN 0120-0976.
This article describes and analyzes the current state of the implementation of technologies by graduates of the Librarianship Department of the National University of La Plata who are in charge of these areas in their place of work. To this end, a sample group with the cases that fit the desired profile was formed. Information was then gathered from this group through the use of a self administered survey that consisted of open and closed questions. Some of the areas surveyed included, the balance of automation process implementation, the application of technologies in the various library processes, their level of education in the use of technologies, the classes and seminars attended, and their outlook for future professional development, among others. Analysis of the results showed that the relationship that the graduates surveyed have with technology placed them in a field of continuous change, albeit with some qualitative differences between them. It was also clear that they saw technology as a positive and creative force of the future.
