Abstract

TEXIER, Jose et al. DSpace as a Repository Tool for Administrative Documents in the National Experimental University of Tachira. Rev. Interam. Bibliot [online]. 2013, vol.36, n.2, pp.109-124. ISSN 0120-0976.

The administrative digital document repositories allow an organization or institution to manage an automated production. This article aims to describe, roughly, a proposal to implement a Repository Administrative Documents in The Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira (REDAUNET) by DSpace tool. The methodology for developing the proposal included: a) a diagnosis at the University through a questionnaire to know what and how to preserve administrative documents, and b) the design of the repository for cataloging and preservation of documents from DSpace software suitable with Venezuelan state laws and regulations of the University. The results indicate that the REDAUNET has six types of administrative documents (acts, records, memos, official letters, resolutions and legal) that contain metadata to identify and locate these documents properly. It also created a documentation for installation, maintenance and development of software platform REDAUNET. This article will provide a contribution to the area of digital repositories, especially in the administrative and be a model for institutions to manage and preserve their documents.
