Abstract

This study conducted a review of government initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening school libraries in the country, with special emphasis in the city of Medellin, from the 19th century to the second decade of the 21st century. The aim is to contribute to the construction of a historical vision of school libraries in Colombia. Likewise, the study reviews some local studies on school libraries in Colombia and examines collections and the use of information and communication technologies.
