MUNERA TORRES, María Teresa; GIRALDO ORTIZ, John Jairo; NIETO ARANGO, Nataly  and  MONTOYA AGUDELO, Yennifer Alexandra. The evolution of library science terminology in Colombia in the interdisciplinary context: the case of the "Terminology Data Bank in Information Sciences". Rev. Interam. Bibliot [online]. 2023, vol.46, n.1, e01.  Epub Aug 31, 2023. ISSN 0120-0976.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.rib.v46n1e349588.

This article presents the main contributions of the second stage of the project "Terminology Data Bank of the Information Sciences", hereinafter referred to as BDT-CI, whose focus is in the field of librarianship. Firstly, a historical account of the evolution of terminology in the academic and research dynamics of the Inter-American School of Library Science (EIB) of the University of Antioquia (UdeA) is presented, which allows us to understand the way in which the current state of the exercise of this discipline has been reached and the projects that are being followed in our context. This is followed by a general description of the methodological aspects applied for the selection, validation and storage of terminology specific to the field of librarianship. Finally, in the sections on results and conclusions, the most relevant aspects of this work are detailed. In particular, it reflects on the importance of the interdisciplinary relationship established between experts from different areas of knowledge involved in projects of this nature, such as librarians, terminologists, translators, communicators, editors, graphic designers, among others.
