Abstract
MUNOZ SUAREZ, Ernesto Javier. Eulerian-Lagrangian model with Discrete Element Method on liquid-solid flow with low upstream velocity. Rev. ion [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.2, pp.73-84. ISSN 0120-100X.
This paper presents a simulation of flow field formed by a liquid phase and a solid dispersed which densities are slightly different, the simulation was done using a Eulerian - Lagrangian model improved with the method of discrete elements, the simulation was performed to evaluate the dispersed phase particles behavior formed by 7050 particles distributed according to the normal distribution in 10 different sizes. From the simulation was possible to find the bed expansion, the distribution of particles from dispersed phase into control volume, and an assessment of the phenomena that produces trend toward segregation and/or intermixing of particles with different size like consequence drag force differences by result of upward flow.
