Abstract

GONZALEZ OCAMPO, Jazmín; ESCOBAR SIERRA, Diana Marcela  and  OSSA OROZCO, Claudia Patricia. Methods for manufacturing hydroxyapatite porous bodies, art state review. Rev. ion [online]. 2014, vol.27, n.2, pp.55-70. ISSN 0120-100X.

Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been widely used for bone replacement in the orthopedic and dentistry fields, due to it has a high biocompatibility. Recent studies have focused on developing HA porous bodies that provide a cell growth cellular scaffold, with the goal to have more possibilities of local implantation. This paper presents a review about the different methods for manufacturing porous HA bodies, it exposes the most relevant results obtained in nationally and internationally researches; related with porosity and mechanical strength. It is possible to conclude, which are the technical that present optimal factor to induce bone regeneration, and also there are many possibilities for producing porous HA bodies, their study will allow to opening different routes of investigation in this field, which are underdeveloped in Colombia.

Keywords : slip-casting; gel-casting; hydroxyapatite; foam Infiltration; freeze casting; rapid prototyping.
