Abstract

GARCIA VELEZ, Lucila. THE DIALOGICAL DIMENSION OF THE CARTESIAN MEDITATION. Escritos - Fac. Filos. Let. Univ. Pontif. Bolivar. [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.47, pp.433-448. ISSN 0120-1263.

Rene Descartes' Meditations on First Philosophy has been considered to be the first work to set the foundations for modern subject and for understanding man as such. Establishing a conversation with him, we explore the dialogical dimension of meditation, aiming to understand the Cartesian proposal in the light of our contemporary horizon. Thus, our ways of understanding subjectivities nowadays could be made visible, allowing us to question both the structure behind the idea of subject as the issue of identity, and, therefore, we might be able to see their uniqueness in the current and acting way of our being-in-the-world.
