Abstract

OSORIO HERRERA, Bayron León. THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF GIVENNESS: THE GIFT AS A PRINCIPLE FOR HUMAN ACTION. Escritos - Fac. Filos. Let. Univ. Pontif. Bolivar. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.50, pp.67-82. ISSN 0120-1263.

In many places and environments we witness truly disturbing conditions for human beings. The relations we cultivate sometimes do not humanize. Some other anthropological possibilities and conditions are, therefore, necessary in order to redirect our actions and the bonds we forge with other people. Anthropology of Givenness asserts the gratuity of existence and understands man as a gift. Therefore, it suggests a review of several anthropological categories with the aim of establishing an order of gratuity and givenness for existence.

Keywords : Anthropology; Gift; Givenness; Relation; Humanization.
