Resumen
BARACALDO VEGA, César Augusto. The Concept of Truth in Maurice Blondel and its Contribution to the Theological Endeavor. Cuest. teol. [online]. 2011, vol.38, n.90, pp.293-315. ISSN 0120-131X.
Modern man nowadays desires truth, he is looking to give meaning to his existence but in his inner world he experiences a distance, an incoherence, an inadequation between what he is and what he wants to be, between what he thinks and what he lives. Starting from the explanation of the concept of truth (not in accordance with its classical definition which speaks only from thinking), but from a more totalising view assumed by the will implying all its decisions and actions; taking also Blondel's ascetic view consisting in a voluntary renunciation, a positive deprivation, a self denial, this article offers its main point: a man may start his own way to give an answer to his inadequation, looking for a meaning in his existence, as did Jesus Christ when he decided to act by self-denial.
