Abstract

The following paper proposes an interpretation of the Encyclical Letter of Pope Benedict XVI Caritas in Veritate which assumes love as the center for dynamism in the social construction. Within the context of the Social Doctrine of the Church, Benedict XVI states the importance of love as a gift from God and of human love as motivating social and cultural development in a globalized world. Love might transform the concrete areas of human fulfillment, viz., culture, society and political economy, into positive realities. It also contributes to mend the biases of which origins can be found in personal and group selfishness.
