The following paper presents the approaches, achievements and challenges of the Sacrosanctum Concilium. It briefly surveys its origin and the circumstances of the Second Vatican Council under which it was promulgated. It also reminds its sources, approaches, and theological and pastoral challenges; as well as its impact on the remaining aspects of the conciliar doctrine. The paper emphasizes the achievements and challenges for the celebration and the worship within the Church.
