MONCADA GUZMAN, Ciro Javier; IBARRA ARROYO, Vanessa Soraya; TISOY TANDIOY, María Carmenza  e  SOTO HERNANDEZ, Diana Marcela. The spirituality from the indigenous perspective Betoy. Franciscanum [online]. 2024, vol.66, n.182, pp.4-4.  Epub 27-Jun-2025. ISSN 0120-1468.  https://doi.org/10.21500/01201468.7584.

This article presents the findings of a research study that explores the role of spirituality in education, healthcare, and human well-being as perceived by leaders within the Betoy indigenous community, located in the Tame region of the Arauca department in Colombia. The study employed narrative methodologies within the qualitative paradigm as its methodological framework. The primary outcomes of this investigation revealed various social constructs that emerged from the narratives of the indigenous participants, which coalesced around thematic categories encompassing indigenous thought, community dynamics, tradition, and life experiences. In summation, it is evident that, within the historical consciousness of the Betoy indigenous community, spirituality is characterized not by dogma or ritualistic practices, but rather by the existential challenges and circumstances that have shaped their historical trajectory.
