Abstract

BRENA, ROBERTO. Differences and Agreements regarding the Work of François-Xavier Guerra (A Reply to Medófilo Medina Pineda). Anu. colomb. hist. soc. cult. [online]. 2011, vol.38, n.1, pp.281-300. ISSN 0120-2456.

The article carries out a critical review of Medófilo Medina Pineda's article "En el Bicentenario: consideraciones en torno al paradigma de François-Xavier Guerra sobre las 'revoluciones hispánicas'" ("The Bicentennial: Considerations on François-Xavier Guerra's Paradigm regarding the 'Hispanic Revolutions'"), published in the Anuario Colombiano de Historia Social y de la Cultura (January-June, 2010). The objective is to open up a debate on Guerra's approach, which, despite the profound influence it has had on Spanish-American historiography during the last two decades, has not yet been the object of serious discussion.

Keywords : François-Xavier Guerra; historiography; Medófilo Medina; hispanic revolutions.
