Abstract

The author offers a comparative study of the gaps and the Latin American historiographical trends regarding World War I -WWI, questioning how to understand these trends and which lines of research are the most representative. The text treats the cases of the Andean countries -Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia; those of the Southern Cone- Argentina, Chile and Uruguay; and Mexico. Additionally, it includes Latin-Americanist and confronted perspectives as well as treatments on the war by European and American historians.
