In this article we will analyze, in the first place, the content of cultural policies designed by the successive officeholders of the Secretary of State for Culture from the National Ministry of Culture and Education during the last Argentinian dictatorship (1976-1893). Secondly, we will explore the trajectories of these officials, which were all civilians. We will show that the Secretary had difficulties to function due to low budget allocations during this period. Furthermore, we will observe the continuities and ruptures with the previous epoch.
