The article provides a history of the Marxist-Leninist League of Colombia, a Maoist organization active during the 1970s and strongly linked to the struggle for land in different regions of the country, as part of the National Association of Peasant Smallholders (Asociación Nacional de Usuarios Campesinos-ANUC). By discussing the readings that blame Maoism for the crisis of ANUC in the mid-1970s and highlighting the contribution of the League to the formation of revolutionary peasant leaders, the article seeks to contribute to the study of the Colombian Maoist left. The paper also points out the difficulties and limitations faced by the protagonists in the attempt to grant continuity to their organizational project. The main sources used for the research were the memoirs of surviving League members, with press documents and literature on the historical context serving as secondary sources
