TENJO GALARZA, Jaime    ARANGO SILVA, Jenifer. Labor Market and Domestic Production: How Men and Women Allocate Their Time. []. , 97, pp.291-324.   14--2022. ISSN 0120-2596.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.le.n97a347346.

This article analyzes the decisions people make about devoting time to labor market activities (paid labor) and domestic production of goods and services (unpaid labor). This is done with the help of a simultaneous equation model that explains the amount of time devoted to each activity. After dealing with some econometric problems, we obtain results that indicate that men and women make different decisions. In the case of women, variables associated with the demand for domestically produced goods and services play a significant role, increasing the amount of time devoted to these activities, although not always lowering the time for labor market activities.
